Founded in 2002, the mission of A Silver Lining Foundation is a labor of love and committment to medically underserved individuals. In five short years we have raised over $2,000,000 in monetary and equipment donations. Here's a snapshot of our programs:

Through the Chicagoland Cancer Information Coalition, our cancer resource and informational program, we can provide access and support to individuals both locally and across the country through our participating organizations. Closer to home our Community Outreach Health Fairs offer multiple free health tests, educational information and seminars. And through our partnership with 311, Chicago's City Services Hotline, callers with cancer related questions and concerns are referred directly to us. This service is the only of its kind in a major metropolitan area.

The Evelyn Goldberg Centers serve as an informational and support hub for cancer patients, their family and friends. The Evelyn Goldberg Quality of Life Grant funds transport to and from treatment, in house food certificates and initial pharmacy co-payments for individuals in need. We endeavor to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

As awareness of our programs and philosophy of inclusion spreads, the numbers of those reaching out to us for help will continue to grow. Our ongoing efforts are making a difference in the screening and treatment of breast cancer. Through our Buy A Mom A Mammogram™ program we fund cost free screening mammograms and diagnostic follow up testing at our partner hospitals to ensure seamless care and attention regardless of financial circumstance. To date A Silver Lining Foundation has provided information about and access to cost free mammograms to over 2,000 women - and that's since 2006! We are also very proud of our donations of cutting edge equipment which enhance the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer.

We are on a roll! Yet, there is much to do in the future. With 47,000,000 Americans uninsured the road ahead is daunting - but as we work together we know that we can and are helping to provide a silver lining to those in need.
